Education Access is also an SpLD Assessment Standards Committee [SASC] Authorised CPD Provider for mentoring.
While studying at university, I took part in a voluntary placement at a unit for pupils with additional needs. Since that experience I have had a passion for bringing the best possible education to all students. As a result of this passion, I have pursued a career direction as a specialist teacher and assessor, which allows me to contribute to ensuring that all students are able to access education and demonstrate their potential. For over 20 years I have worked in schools, both in mainstream and specialist provision, as well as in LEA support services. I have experience of working with students from year 1 up to year 13.
For several years now, I have supported other teachers who wish to develop in their roles supporting students with specific learning difficulties, by taking on a role as a Senior Assessor for include-ed’s PAPAA course. This course prepares teachers for the task of generating assessment evidence in support of applications for Access Arrangements.
